berets for days....

Friday, March 24, 2017
The other day I filmed youtube video with all of the berets that I currently own. I felt the need to style around this piece because its easily my favorite accessory. I first fell in love with the look of the beret after watching one of my favorite films The Dreamers way back when I was a senior in high school. I never went out and bought my own as they weren't very easy to find, until a few years later when I got a job at American Apparel. At the time they sold so many in tons of different colors, I had to have all of them! A few years later, they are all the rage and in so many instagram / blogger pictures. I love seeing how everyone styles them differently and how they can easily turn even the laziest day outfit ( jeans, band tee and sneakers) into a effortlessly chic look.

below are a few pictures of how I styled them,  hope you enjoy!

a few things that have been on my mind lately.....

H A I R //

long bobs / messy waves / textured bangs

Jane, always.

wavy & unkept, especially with a middle part

when in doubt, i love this messy hair look with a fedora hat and red lips.

jane, always.

something about distressed mom shorts with a tucked in button down and coin necklace that just looks so effortlessly chic.

victorian lace blouses, mom jeans and a nice vintage leather belt. a go to outfit on the daily.

I always love getting inspiration from all sorts of places, as many people do I assume. For myself the internet has been a big one lately from tumblr, pinterest to instagram. I am always looking for the next thing to spark inspiration and make me dig through my closet trying to recreate my own version of whatever it may be.

I do love my old films though, especially silent films and anything from the 1960's -70's. I actually used to spend hours searching for new films to watch. I must get back into that soon. Its always a little harder to sit down and watch a film then it is to scroll through your phone for inspiration but when you do find the time to relax and sit through a whole film and really soak it all up I can't explain the boost of energy I feel, it feeds my inspiration so much more then any picture will ever do.
