last wednesday was my 27th birthday
to celebrate my boyfriend nick and i took a short trip to austin, which is only a few hours away from where i live in houston. i hadn't been to austin since last november but i always love going to visit. everything about this place is rich in culture, music and all around good vibes. not the mention you will never run out of unique local coffee shops to stop by and grab a nice cup of jo to get you started with your day!
we stayed at one of my favorite dreamy hotels - Hotel San Jose. i was so excited to stay here as we always pass by it while shopping on south congress and it never fails to look so relaxing and serene, despite being in the middle of a busy tourist street. we were only there for one night, but it was long enough to enjoy a nice glass of froze ( best summer drink ever ) and spend time in our lovely room. also, there was a bath tub, which i hadn't enjoyed a nice bath in months since our apartment doesn't have one currently ( we have a stand up shower, so not as enjoyable as nice hot bubble bath).
during our stay we stopped by one of my favorite, actually no, my favorite vintage shop! Feathers Boutique! i love this place to pieces. we always have to stop by every time we go to austin, the clothes are well curated to the style of the boutique, which is very bohemian 1970's with a bit of rock and roll vibes, i think. the ladies that work here are very kind as well, that always counts in my book!
we also visited Elizabeth's Cafe, another dreamy spot located near our hotel. they serve Vietnamese style food, and we usually go for the pho soup and iced coffee - delish! not to mention the decor is very feminine and retro, which i love.
where are your favorite places to go and feel inspired?
until next time.
